Best Wedding Songs of 2010 – The Knot.com

While many of these tunes became popular in late 2009, many (especially the slow songs) continue to gain popularity in the wedding industry.

When to play it: The first dance

"Only You Can Love Me This Way" by Keith Urban

"I Got a Feeling" by Black Eyed Peas

Who will like it: Your guests who are ready to party

When to play it: As you make your reception entrance

"Never Had Nobody Like You" by M. Ward

Who will like it: The romantics and nostalgics

When to play it: The cake cutting

"My Life Would Suck Without You" by Kelly Clarkson

Who will like it: Your best girlfriends (who think life would suck without you)

When to play it: As one of the first slow songs

"Down" by Jay Sean

"Blame It (on the Alcohol)" by Jaime Foxx and T. Pain

Who will like it: Your guests who like to dance

When to play it: Late (when the older folks have made their exit)

"Everyday" by Vetiver

Who will like it: All the couples

When to play it: As the last slow song of the night
Yeah, we know the video isn't romantic (it's a parody), but the song still is!

UPCOMING BRIDAL SHOWS

The wedding booking season is in full swing and Black Tie Entertainment is set to exhibit at the following bridal shows during the first months of 2010.  Contrary to many wedding magazines and websites which advise booking your DJ only 6-9 months before your event – it is never too early to search for and secure your vendors.  Every vendor is first-come, first-serve and established vendors (like prime dates) book quickly.  Along with competency, we always advise finding vendors you’re comfortable working closely with.

If you’re in the market for DJ services, videography, uplighting, photo booth rentals or any other wedding related service please stop by and see us.

Professional Video Has Its Place

Every time I see a professionally produced video I'm so impressed by the overall quality that I want to view it again.  Maybe it's because I've seen so many homemade and poor examples over the years that I appreciate it more than most.  Not only is the HD resolution impressive but the camera angles, audio, and overall editing & production of the video is just so enjoyable to view - even when you don't/hardly know the people in it.    Then I think of how often we don't work with a videographer at a reception - and I know this is also the case with my DJ friends in the industry.  Brides and grooms more often than not view video as an expense they can live without but I wonder if they have viewed a video created by a professional videographer.  Its one of those things that when you see it you say "I gotta have that".  Pictures can't provide what video provides.  The video by cousin Nick shooting with his handheld camcorder can't compare.  And the reception you attended where the videographer had the bright intrusive spotlight isn't comparable either.

If you're planning a special event you owe it to yourself to check out the work of local Syracuse companies like Video Expressions, Vasili's World Video, Visa Versa, and the Video Network before you decide against having a professional videographer.

Happy Trails,

-Bill
